With a week of remembering behind us, other memories were brought to our brains which we knew most people would not know about us, so we decided that the only way to really be our true friends you must know all our deepest darkest secrets, good and bad.
Backgroud:
We were the youngest of five girls, and the ring leaders of the group of five cousins. We put the "Awe" in Awesome. If there was ever a dumb idea, it mostly likely came from the combination of our unlimited imaginations. We were known, or somewhat not known, as The Cousinhood of the Invisible Cool Ones consisting of Lisa, Diana, Hannah, Katie, and Sarah. With this in mind, we begin our tale.
At the time when we were still unnoticed and unappreciated, we came up with great ideas that outsiders would consider.... retarded. You know the old statement that girls never go to the bathroom alone? We took this very literally. There was hardly ever a time that there was only one set of cheeks on the cold thrown at once. We were set on saving time, and one way to do that was to have as many of us as possible squeeze our little bottoms onto the toilet at the same time, therefore creating more time to play. Actually it was more like we all waited until the very last possible moment before our blatters exploded and couldn't wait to go one at a time. This wasn't a problem at all until we started getting our girlie figures and our hips began to grow. That is when we began making one specific memeber of the club take the tub (name has been left out for their own personal protection).
That leads us into the reason we couldn't wait. Each time we would find ourselves enjoying each others company once again, we would have what we like to call "tea parties" consisting of pull apart licorice, swedish fish, soda, and cute little cups (usually our own sippy cups purchased from the dollar store) when no one notices you, its easy to get away with things like this. At every tea party we could count on two things: one, a burping contest and the second... without fail, there would always be one of us (sometimes two or more) who would laugh so hard they became incapacitated and therefore lose all control of their bodily functions (mainly the blatter). In other words, yes. There was pee. It was everywhere. It stunk. Literally. End of discussion.
Not only did this problem occur at tea parties, there was also other times where laughter would overpower us and the river would begin. There was one particular moment that comes to mind. It was a cold day in Nephi, Utah where we were playing in the backyard (in Heralds backyard there were two big long logs that we played on and jumped off of during our many adventures) Lisa and I (Katie) were playing on said logs when we decided to make the two headed monster and share a coat since one of us didn't have one. As soon as we became one we started laughing and tried to jump off of the log. Well, being as brilliant as we were we some how messed up our counting and each jumped at different times and we fell on the ground rolling with laughter, but that wasn't the only thing we were rolling in. When we got up, trying to talk through our fits of laughing we both admited to the crime we had committed-we had once again lost control.
One of our favorite games to play was called Crow. Very deep, yes. The meaning of the word in this case is not the average black bird that eats Grandma's cabbage in the garden. Crow was a very mean, anger filled man (who I believe was an Indian and Sarah believes was just given a weird name at birth). Crow's brother was also a key player in our games but we regrettfully have forgotten his name at this time. Usually what happened was one of us was kidnapped by the angry men and was forced to marry them. When someone tried to save them, they married the brother. If we escaped, we somehow ended up at the horrible orphanage under the care of Miss Medlock, another evil woman of the world, (usually played by the skilled actress Katie because no one else could handle the pressure or remember the lines.) (That's what Katie thinks. She was Miss Medlock because the rest of us were to soft hearted to even pretend to be so mean to each other, but we knew Katie could handle it.) Anyway, childhood was amazing with the cousinhood of the invisible cool ones. There was never a dull moment and we formed an unbreakable bond and still share occasional tea parties just for memories sake, and nothing has changed if you get my drift. Now getting older, we plan to still stick together through the hard times and good times as the cousinhood continues, until next time my dear cousins, hasta la pasta!

Urination is always funny. I don't care what your mom says. Thank goodness for the invisible cool ones you have made a few families parties a lot funner but please don't ask me to join your sick little pee circle I refuse to pee in the tub.
ReplyDeleteKate, you're hilarious! I'm sorry to admit that I have had my fair share of accidents due to laughing! But hey, we all need a good laugh! It keeps us young! You and Sarah have a cute blog. You keep us smiling! Mine is still too sad!
ReplyDeleteThats ok Tink there's nothing wrong with being sad, I started a few that were sad but I couldn't ever finish. I still try not to think of it because everytime I'm reminded I get all teary eyed and people give me weird looks. Even just writing this starts the flow of emotion. Hopefully with time things get easier to grasp. As for you Jonny, I'm not sure I would want you to join our pee circles :) strictly females only!
